These mitts are really cute!

CO 36 stitches with contrasting color. K 1 row. Change to main color. Added 4 rows before starting thumb. I basically winged it when adding stitches for the thumb, doing my best to make them the same.

Took me a couple of days to figure out the flap. I added the stitches on the pinkie side with the palm facing up. Then knit back toward the thumb, continuing around to the back of the hand to the pinkie. Then turn your work and knit toward the index finger and around to the pinkie and the flap. It’s like knitting the outside and then knitting the inside.

My button is decorative, meaning I did not knit a buttonhole, and the holes were tiny, only large enough for needle and thread, so I sewed the button on the flap before closing the flap. I attached the flap to the mitt by “sewing” them together using yarn.
