Time consuming project for me because I love to be challenged. The knit 1 Purl 1 seemed agonizing to me but well worth the effort. I quit at 11 inches and it was fine for me but I can see why you would want it wider so that you have more to play with when you wrap it around your neck. I will knit again and im sure my friends will want one when they see this one!!!!!! :)
