Notes

This was meant to replace a favorite charcoal-grey sweater that is getting kind of ratty after 15 or 16 years of use.

The sweater is my own design, but the cables are mostly not: the central cable is the Ensign’s Braid from Barbara Walker’s “A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns,” p.178-179; the plait is the Little Plait Cable from her “A Treasury of Knitting Patterns” (that’s the first volume) p.245, and the Y cables are on p. 243 of that book, where they’re called the Bulky Double Cable--but I shortened the pattern repeat to 6 rows instead of her 10-row version. The other panels are 4 stitches each of moss stitch, framed by two stockinette stitches. Other panels are framed by 1 stockinette stitch.

If you’re interested in serious details, I can email pdf’s of the graph-paper patterns I drew up and worked from.
