I am making this as a sweater in the round with a buttoned up yoke. Still thinking if I’ll do the belled sleeves or normal sleeves with k1p1 cuffs.

started Dec 23rd but came out way to wide.

Restarted Feb 12th with the stitch count for size 38 to adjust for my thicker gauge.

Modifications:

• did this as a pullover
• replaced the folded hem on the bottom with an italian cast on and k1p1 ribbing
• added faux seam on the sides and decreases for shaping
• replaced the I-cord cuffs and the belled sleeves with an italian cast on, k1p1 ribbing which transferred to k3p1 ribbing and then fitted sleeves
• did the yoke exactly as described in the pattern but omitted the buttons and button loops

The smocking is a little tedious to do and I think very hard to get neatly looking especially with splitty yarn like this.

The neckline is pretty tight. The pattern says it is made that way and it will widen during wearing. I’ll never wear it closed anyway so I don’t care much.

I think in the swing jacket it works out fine, because the weight and movement of the garment pulls the neckline down and widens it automatically. But I think it will not work in a pullover. So if somebody will make this as a buttoned up pullover this should be considered (omit some decreases or choose a stretchy neckline edging)
