8/28- I’ve made everything but the arms and legs. It went pretty smoothly. The pattern is great, but a little inconsistent in spots. Like at row 16, you can’t sc 28 after chaining 23. That makes 53 stitches, and you only had 52 stitches in the previous round. I read the comments, and decided to just do a random increase. I wish I hadn’t, because a few rows later I had too many stitches, and had to do an extra decrease. It all worked out fine, and one extra stitch makes no difference in this pattern anyways. It just caused a little extra confusion at the time, and lots of extra thinking.

I read others reviews on the mouth being too big. So I just made it smaller to save myself time. I left out rows 7, 8 & 9. It worked out great.

I also wish that each row had a stitch count at the end. All in all it is a wonderful pattern that made a darling toy that my son LOVES!! And that I think is quite cute as well. I plan to make it again in the future, (I added cardboard to the mouth, and wish I hadn’t, because now I can’t wash it) so my son might need a new one, that he can take outside.

Even without arms and legs, my son spotted it this morning, and ran to him. He picked him up, and hugged him, said “lalala” over and over (which is the Elmo’s World song) then he gave him kisses, and wouldn’t put him down all morning. It made me so happy that he loved something I made him so much. Now I gotta go get those arms and legs on! :)

8/28 (afternoon)- Well I finished Elmo. He is SO CUTE!! Just gotta take some pictures now!! :):):)
