Using the heel from the SOS pattern. Heel mods (using the 72 st. count): when 40 stitches left on needles, I stopped doing knit round (round 2) in between decrease rounds. When 32 stitches left, k2tog all around. Last round: k2tog, k1 around (end with k2tog). 10 stitches remain, then pulled the yarn through those stitches, following the no Kitchener stitch finish.
I must have also made a few more changes to the heel that I didn’t write down, because the heel on my second sock seems to be a couple of rounds longer somehow!
These socks really knit up quickly, I just had to put the second one aside for several months because of other knitting priorities. I used up leftovers from other projects and some new mini skeins.
