Notes

Feb 2017 - this is a work in progress. Corner to corner blanket. I purchased 5 x 100g balls of King Cole Riot, 5 in Reggae and 5 in Caribbean. Very similar shades, quite a subtle difference with Reggae being slightly brighter. I am using them alternately, and plan to start decreasing when I am half way through the yarn (remembering to save enough for a border!) The yarn seems quite fine for a DK - but I am liking they way it works up, and best of all not too many ends to weave in from colour changes. It seems quite magical the way the colours work so well with this design. I think the secret is to make sure the yarn has a long colour change sequence.

Finished! June 2017 (with other projects inbetween of course!) Took 9.5 balls of yarn. The main body of the blanket used 8 of the 100g balls and the border 1.5 balls.

I decided to try Betty’s Beautiful Border by Betty Byers. I varied the final row a bit. The original pattern did not look quite right in this yarn which is rather fine. I ended up using a 2.5mm hook for the border.
