Knitting the bottom teeth ribbon first, and continuing knitting it as I go. From what I gather, the grafted method is more traditional for lace weight, but I’d really like to try the make-as-I-go method. It just seems simpler. Plus I have no idea how it works.

105 stitches to start… tooth repeat is 16 sts, +3 for first tooth,-1 for last tooth. So,
105 = ((x * 16) +3 -1) / 2
x = 13
so I think I’ll be making 13 teeth for the bottom row… or is it 14, with half a tooth on either side? Nah, let’s go with 13. I want a double row of eyelets in the teeth too. Planning on 3 large diamonds.

Mar 7 - 35 mins. Finished 1 tooth! I restarted 3 times… forgot I wanted a double row of eyelets, then messed up the number of cast on stitches twice. Ha. This will be fun!

Mar 8 - 3h40m. All 13 teeth done, picked up the long flat edge & cast-on edge and (RS) knit across (skipping the cast-on edge for the first pass), which turns the right corner of the teeth edging. (WS) Knit across the body and right-side edge again (staying in pattern for edging), then (RS) knit the right-side edging and row 3 of the body, and knit into the cast-on stitches I had picked up earlier (staying in pattern for the edging), which completes the corner turn on the left-side edging. From here, it’ll just be continuing the body and working the edging all in one piece, at least until I get to the top. Not sure what to do there, but I have ideas. Total 4h15m.

Mar 24 - 2h15m. Major surgery on the central diamond - I had shifted the outer wall inward by 1 stitch on the left side almost at the beginning. It was highly visible…once I stopped to take a look at it. Oops. Outer wall’s all good now, buuuut there’s a stitch on the inside that I don’t like the look of. Finished 123/764. Total 25h.
