Overall impression: I think I like this method better than regular TAAT, at least for single-color socks. However, it’s harder to try them on, so it’s best for if I am already very confident in my gauge.

• Actually, knitting this with wrong sides together. It’s a lot easier for me to knit the front and purl the back than vice versa.
• Partridge eye heel
• Heel turn: sl1, work 50% of heel flap sts, dec, k1, turn
• Gusset: pick up 10 sts ea side

Technically the first round of the first sock should be p1k1 (or p2k2 in my case). This drove me absolutely crazy trying to figure out. I get why the pattern just has you do k1p1 for both socks (it doesn’t matter that much, and it’s easier to keep track of), but I wish it had been addressed somewhere.

Oct 14 - 1h5m. The directions were confusing, so I just ignored them and tried it my own way. Turns out, this is just double knitting, done “wrong” every stitch (so that they don’t cross). It’s really that easy.

Oct 26 - 25m. Used the Finchley graft - which is Kitchener, but done on the reverse side, and easier. All ends woven in. Total 10h35m.
