Notes

Great pattern. Well written and easy to follow. Really happy I purchased this pattern :-)
I was tempted to call this project the “Yarn Eater Hat” as it REALLY churns through the yarn. I don’t think I’ve ever made a hat using quite so much yarn! LOL.
It makes a huge hat (a Tam or Beret style) & I would have run out of yarn if I had made it according to the pattern, even though my tension was correct & I had purchased enough yarn to make the hat according to the patterns specifications. So if you plan to make the hat exactly as the pattern, then make sure you have extra yarn :-)
I decided that if I had made the hat exactly as the pattern goes it would have been way too heavy and just slipped straight off my head with the weight. So I stopped increasing after row 13 and just continued in the cable pattern as established, then finished after I had a total of 5 cable “twists” on the main cables. I then finished as the pattern suggested :-)
It fits perfectly and sits really nicely without any effort, so I’m really happy.
It is a VERY thick and heavy hat, and will be very warm too :-)
