Using my beautiful skein of Purple Magic mal lace that I won in the Eat.Sleep.Knit yarn lotto in 2011 to convince myself that I really can knit laceweight single strand. And also learn to bead knit at the same time.

I really don’t think I could handle the recommended 5mm needles with laceweight so using my favourite 3.5mm 60cm fixed circ, 200 stitches looks a good size and its coming out lovely and soft.

I don’t know what size my beads are they seem a bit big but I couldn’t get any crochet hook through the smaller ones, using a 1.00mm hook with these and some of them it doesn’t fit. Problem may be buying beads at a “big box’ craft shop but I didn’t want to get into ordering beads online for a starter project. changed to 0.75mm crochet hook which is working better.

Went back to store to get more, they are size 6/0.
