I absolutely love this red. It’s very saturated and warm and therefore very difficult to photograph accurately. These photos really don’t do it justice.
I’ve almost decided to make an Amelie sweater every year. This is my second one. I now have 2 colours of leftovers that amount to enough to make a stripey sweater.
I feel like I’m saying this for almost every sweater lately, but I was worried the sweater was overly fitted when I was knitting it, but blocking relaxed it just enough. I also blocked it hard, so this is by choice. This sweater was somewhat inspired by my last handspun tunic. That last sweater turned out to be such an unexpected favourite.
If I were to make this again, I would make sure to include the neck ribbing decreases on the front and not must the back. This is causing the sweater to pull backwards even though the neck depths are correct. Knowing this is to be a boatneck, I probably would also make the shoulder width slightly narrower. It did however achieve the desired effect as it was meant to be an off-the shoulder (almost) sweater. It also seems to be growing a little with each wear. I probably never needed to block it quite that hard.
