Kitchen Towel Topper

Base row: Stitch approx. 26-30 stitches across Centre of towel on good side
Row 1-3: Ch1, Sc across all Sts, turn (3 rows the same)
Row 4: Ch1, Sc1, Sc1, SC tog repeat to end finishing off with a Sc
Row 5:Ch1, Sc across all Sts, turn
Rows 6-14: Alternate (row 4 & row 5) Ending with 6 st
Rows 15-30:Ch1, Sc across all Sts, turn*
Button: Magic circle, Sc6 into circle
Round 1: Work in rounds 2Sc into each Sc (12)
Rounds 2-4: 1Sc in each Sc (12)
Cut yarn at 12”, Sl St around circle to close up button leaving extra tarn for sewing onto topper.
Button Hole:
Attach yarn in outside Sc,Ch1 1Sc in 3 Sc turn* repeat 3 more times, cut yarn fasten off (4rows)
Attach yarn in opposite inside Sc, Ch1 1Sc in 3 Sc turn repeat 3 more times, cut yarn fasten off (4rows)
Sl St two flapstogether and across last 2Sc
Check if button fits through hole
Ch1 turn 1st in each Sc across (6Sc), Cut yarn and fasten off
Sew button into place by passing yarn back and forth through button Centre
Optional: Do edge stitching all the way around (Attach yarn, Ch1 1Hdc in all sts around, turn Ch1 Sc1 in each H
dc all the way around. Cut yarn fasten off work in all ends
