Grandma is facing the end of her life. Her biggest hobby is collecting nativity scenes from all over the world. She has hundreds in all sizes, but does not have an amigurumi one. I hope to start and finish this in time to give it to her. I finished enough to give it to her… minus one wise man. She passed away yesterday morning, the 22nd, but was delighted with the gift.

What I did: Crocheted in mostly size 10 crochet thread, but the metallics were size 5, which made adjusting sizes necessary. I chose to do the angel as written even tho it was with the metallics (size 5), and was happy with the effect. (angel is larger than the others) For the angel’s skin, I used the same metallic thread as the hair, removing the metallic strand as i went.

Pipe cleaners in the arms and in the legs of the animals - this also eliminated the need for stuffing such small pieces. I found a packet with several neutral colors which was perfect for all pieces.

I used 5 pennies to give a flat surface and add weight to each person, and nickels in the angel, stuffing the rest of the body.
