On the plain stockinette in the yoke I went down to a size 7 to smooth out the knitting and back to an 8 on the colorwork. I found I needed to decrease 8 more stitches on the final round before the neck ribbing because my mother age 86 has very small sloping shoulders. The neckline as written would have been too wide for her. I also used a size 7 for the neck for the same reason.
