Notes

Another shawl I’ve been meaning to make for at least 3 years!
Glad I made it in the end, although, after wanting to make the shawl because of the beautiful edging, I actually made another edging instead!

I found the pattern okay to follow, but found it was much easier and quicker following the chart!
And I admit that this was helped by a set of charts I downloaded from the CAL held by The Secret Yarnery group/YouTube channel 3 years ago.
They had taken the chart and made individual copies of each row from 1 to 13 (so great for repeats).

The reason I ended up making a different edging was because of the yarn I used.
I wanted to finish with the last colour (purple) for the edging, and I wanted to make it fairly large too, but by this time, the shawl was wide with long rows and there wasn’t enough purple for all the edging rows.
So I made a 3 row edging instead with a picot finish.
I like it anyway slightly_smiling_face

I found the lace part very easy to do, but had to concentrate (I sometimes find this with easy patterns, I get lulled into a false sense of security and make mistakes) slightly_smiling_face

Love the yarn I used and love how the colours played out.
Will probably make the pattern again and next time do the edging as on the pattern!
