Notes

Nice, quick and easy project.
However, the yarn, though having a lovely look and feel, was not the easiest to work with!
But now I’ve worked out what the quirks are in this yarn, I will use it again slightly_smiling_face

Notes on this yarn:
Never try to unpick a large block of your work. The yarn fluffs and tangles very easily. It also breaks easily if you tug it to try to undo a tight stitch.

Yarn is quite thin for worsted, so won’t give you the thickness or length and width you may expect, but if you try to crochet loosely, your wide stitches tend to show up a lot!

So, try not to make mistakes slightly_smiling_face and work out what width you will be happy with before you begin.
Because there is no going back! slightly_smiling_face

But it’s still a lovely yarn for a light, lacy scarf. And the colour changes are just right too.

Crochet process:
Chained 34 to begin (sets of 6 plus 4). This, I hoped, would make the scarf a little wider.

I used a 7mm hook for the beginning chain, but this did leave very open stitches, so would probably go down at least half a hook size next time.

Rest of pattern, I used a 6mm hook.

As it turned out, because the yarn, although noted as worsted weight, is quite fine (and I guess I must crochet a little tight?), I still ended up with only a 5.5 inches width scarf, but it looks good anyway slightly_smiling_face

Scarf is also shorter than I really wanted. that’s because I began again having decided to add the extra repeat, but undoing the few rows I had already done proved difficult and some yarn was lost.

I did add tassels at both ends though and this helps the scarf appear longer.

I didn’t like the way the two ends didn’t match - one is curved shells and the beginning end is a row of chains.
So, I added a row of shells to the beginning row and used a darning needle with the yarn to blend the shells into the ch row (A bit of a fudge, but it worked slightly_smiling_face ).

Measurements:
Length (before tassels): 58.5 inches (148.5 cms)
Length with tassels: 64.5 inches (164 cms)
Width: 5.5 inches (14 cms).

This is a great little pattern!
It also works very well with variegated yarn.
And there’s a video if you need extra help.
Ideal beginner crochet project, but do be careful with the yarn slightly_smiling_face
