This sweater is the V-necked Pullover option from Leisure Arts 2328, Back to Basics Crocheted Drop Shoulder leaflet, dating from 1992.

25 years ago, I started crocheting a sweater for then-baby Hillary AzairaNox. The yarn is pale mint green. For some reason that eludes me now, a reason shrouded in the mists of long ago, I stopped crocheting after the back and two sleeves, and set the project aside. Perhaps Hillary had already outgrown it? Perhaps the cotton yarn felt harsh to my fingers? Perhaps I was afraid that I was going to run out of yarn before I was done? Whatever the reason, I set it aside and did not pick it up again.

Yesterday Katherine Flutterbyte finished it, winning a game of Yarn Chicken in the process. She crocheted the front and the neckline ribbing, and sewed the seams. The sweater is done, and it fits my 2-year-old grandson!
