Submission Requirements:

The minimum size required for competition players is the one size (72 sts) size.

You must knit a minimum of 7 gusset and leg chart repeats on the leg, and 10 foot chart repeats plus 3 rounds on the instep. Mark your pattern repeats on at least one sock.

ALL required photos must be added to your project page. Never attach photos to your email unless specifically asked to do so by a mod.

Photo Requirements:

1.Your progress photo.

2.Your photo showing the socks on adult feet, or with blockers/faux feet and a measuring device showing they are at least the 9”/22.9cm minimum length (this photo could be combined with 3 or 4 below).

3.A side view photo where all of both socks are visible in one photo. Be careful not to cover any part of the sock with a measuring device!

4.A full front view -- we need to see clearly all of the fronts of both socks in one photo.

~~~ Designer’s Notes ~~~
Inspired by the annual Sock Madness competition, this sock has a little lace, a few cables, a sprinkling of twisted stitches, some clever mirroring, and a beaded picot bind off making it a fun sock to knit and very nice to wear. A star toe begins this sock which has a heel flap + gusset and ribbing up the back of leg for a nice fit. Work this up in a favorite solid or semi-solid color to really show off the stitches.
~~~ My Notes ~~~

Used size 6 rose-lined crystal seed beads.

April 22.
Pattern dropped today. Must drop everything and cast on! I am using solid gray yarn from stash, beads are up-in-the-air.
At bedtime, the toe is complete, and the foot is already into the third repeat.
I am using dpn’s, although I played around with my new FlexiFlips for a few rows. They are a bit floppy for my taste. I prefer the straight double pointed sticks. However, I may try them again when there is more sock to hold onto.

April 23.
Didn’t get very far today, since a migraine laid me low in the evening. Shimmery gray stitches. I was afraid I would have to undo the next day, or pick up. Besides, all I wanted to do was go home (I was at Knit Night), and so we left early and that is what I did.

April 24, 10 p.m.
Starting Repeat 11, about to work the cables on Row 3 before working the set up row for the gusset, when… HORRORS!!! The was a mistake back in Repeat 10. Backing up, it looks like I will have to go all the way back to Row 4 to correct this.

It takes so much longer to unknit cables and double decreases than it does to knit them.

April 25.
Feeling better, finally, although the head still complains, and I feel congestion building in my ear. You’d think at my age, I would be beyond ear infections.

I had to undo a complete 6 row repeat to get back to ground zero, and move forward again. The heel flap is done. I am loving these socks again.

But yeah, “complacent” pretty much describes it, doesn’t it. Oh well. If I am slow enough, I won’t have to bead the bind off…

May 1.
The pictures tell the story better than I could. For some reason, I didn’t take a picture on April 30, but when I went to bed that night, I think I was on the first or second repeat of the heel flap.

May 5.
I finished tonight, near midnight as usual, and am getting ready to send the email in at 12:48 central time, on May 6.
