Corner to cornet blanket started using all my left over sock yarns. I LOVE this project. I may have to find a mini skein swap!

1-16-17 Notes:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this finished blanket.

If inquiring minds want to know, here are a few things about it:

Used this tutorial by Crochet Crowd over at RedHeart on how to do the Corner 2 Corner pattern.

I used a size 6 or G hook because I like the drape of the blanket with this size hook.

I didn’t keep good track about how much yarn I use. :o(

The finished blanket weights 1 lb. 14oz.

It’s 48 inches wide by 60 inches long… before border.

I think used at least 12 skeins of Felici Sock Yarn from Knit Picks. This yarn makes a stunning display of colors and is SO soft! I also used 3 other random skeins of yarn with about the same yardage as the Knit Picks but I have no idea what they were due to missing ball bands.

The crochet border was something I found doing a google search. It’s called several different names…..
Reverse Shell Stitch, or Crochet Fan Edging, either one…they both look the same to me.

Here is the video that helped me learn how to do the
Crochet Wave Fan Edging. It is so simple but gives it that WOW factor.

I modified this edging just a tad to suit me.
First, did a single crochet around the entire blanket to begin.

Then starting the Fan Stitch, where you are suppose to do 4 double crochet into 4 single crochet and then turn to make the fan/shell…I didn’t do double crochet. I did 4 half double crochet because I didn’t want that row to be so tall that the shell sat on top.

Everything else it pretty much the same except for maybe putting 8 total double crochet’s in the shell instead of 7. The sock yarn I was using was a light fingering weight.

This edging is very forgiving…give it a try!
