My very first project on the knitting machine, (not counting the trial swatches to learn how to use it) Measurements from a muslin knit dress I sewed from an Ottobre pattern + eyeball ;) Inspired by some projects found here on Ravelry. See my Favourites Lagenlook bundle for inspiration.
It took me 4 evenings to machine knit the bodice and the skirt. (4 pieces). Then I procrastinated a bit on sewing the side seams and handknitting the 4 rows of garter stitch at the hem. (circular 5.5 mm needle)
Ended up just a bit shorter than expected but I’m confident it’s going to stretch because it’s alpaca.
Bodice : swatch 18.5 st x 30 rows for 10 x 10 cm. DT 4, MT 7
Skirt and cowl : swatch 15 st x 22 rows for 10 x 10 cm. DT 6, MT 7

I finished the neckline with 2 rows of single crochet in a matching sock yarn (remnants of Delight by Drops Garnstudio) which gave a bit of structure to prevent any stretching. For now I’m leaving the armhole edges as they are.
I decided to knit the cowl as a separate piece because this yarn can be extremely warm and this will make my tunic more versatile and I’ll have a cowl. CO 90st on waste yarn and knit 160 rows, then grafted first and last rows. why is it that my first grafted project EVER was in a dark bouclé yarn ???
