With only two colours and a nice, charted repeating pattern knitted in the round (no purling!) I found it a great project for an adventurous colourwork novice.

The pattern calls for two skeins, one standard 4ply and one contrasting laceweight in something fluffy to give that halo, softer than a kitten made of marshmallows. I was wary of alternating two weights, but the suri fluffed up to fill the gaps so that’s an interesting discovery that opens a lot of doors.

In the end I used just under half a skein of each colour, but I wasn’t very careful with gauge so it ended up narrower than designed, but I’m cool with that. Your yarn-mileage may vary.
