Notes

20/06/2014 I was given a TIK gift voucher at Christmas and kept checking their site for the karbonz interchangeable needles that didn’t come in my set. Eventually I realised that these sold out so quickly they never appeared on the website so I rang up and ordered the 3.25 and 3.75mm tips. They arrived in stock this week, so I made up the order to the value of the gift voucher by adding a couple of colours of malabrigo sock. I’d always fancied making myself something in the lettuce colourway, and picked chocolate as it sounded (and looked) so rich as a contrast colour. I had colour affection in mind, but I spent some time today browsing Ravelry projects and spotted Cameo. I kept looking at other shawls, but kept coming back to the Cameo, so here I am, making myself a striped shawl! I was attracted to this particularly by the blue and brown striped shawl made by amanda2127. I do have a few projects to make for people with impending babies, so this is being cast on as I wait for yarn to arrive from elsewhere, and it will be done in between those projects.

08.09.2014 Started yesterday finally! Really excited about this one, using the chart from Amanda2127 to do my stripes.

28.12.2014 This was on hold until I needed the needles for something else, and I know if I just take them off and use them for the other project then I’ll just end up giving up, so started this again over Christmas. Ran out of brown before the end of the stripes in Amanda’s chart, hers is for thinner yarn with more yardage I think. If I make it again I’ll change the position of those, but not going to rip this back and reposition them, this is for me and I think it’ll look nice this way also. Did a few rows of green to get to the 217 stitches ready for the lace section.

29.12.2014 Looks like I’m not going to run out of the green (lettuce). I might add half a repeat of lace at the end if there’s enough yarn left, I’d like this to be a big shawl!

31.12.2014 - Finished this last night, took some pictures today in the daylight, although I still have to block the shawl and add more pictures at a later stage.

01.01.2015 - Blocked this yesterday, so added more pictures today. Love this shawl!

10 years later I still wear this shawl often. It’s snuggly and cosy and the yarn feels nice next to my skin.
