Notes

Take II:

  • Started with 4sc in a loop, increased to 8, and called them both round 1, because most sharks have a pointier nose
  • Instead of decreasing 6 stitches every 6 rounds, I decreased by 3 every 3 rounds, to make for smoother step-downs
  • Actually, I was going for more of a GW shape, and their caudal fins are nearly symmetrical, so the top one only has 12 rounds, while I took the bottom one out to 10 rounds
  • Also started the fins with either 3 or 4 stitches in a loop, then increased to 6
  • Sharks don’t have cats’ eyes, they’re solid black, unless they’re attacking, and… yeah, 12mm black safety eyes. xD

Good call on the back-stitching for the mouth and gill lines, though. I pulled apart a 4-ply piece of black yarn and just used one of the 4 pieces, which was perfect, I thought -- just subtle enough that your mind isn’t trying to find the lines, but they’re not sticking out and drawing attention to themselves.

Maybe Poseidon will be happy enough with this that he’ll call the sharks back out to the deep and let us Californians go in the water again… T_T
