My mom asked me to knit a hat for a gift for a friend’s grandson and I thought this looked adorable.

The pattern is very detailed and has great photos. I felt like I learned a number of new techniques from knitting this hat - it was definitely more of an advanced knit.

But, I have to congratulate the designer because she did a wonderful job explaining the steps to take and I loved that she included the stitch counts, too.

The only part I was confused about was sewing the front sides of the hat to the brim. Though the directions were very precise and seemed clear, I just could not figure out how I was supposed to sew the two together on the sides. The front was easier.

Make sure that you have plastic canvas and some elastic when you start the project so that you don’t have to go shopping in the middle of the knit. It’s much more satisfying to have everything at hand so you can finish the hat quicker.
