Finished making these a few days ago. How mad are the toes?! They look amazing, I’m so pleased with them, this is a lovely pattern for experienced sock knitters. I’m definitely going to make another pair.

I’m not entirely happy with the wrap and turn method detailed, I don’t see what would prevent me just using my usual method on my next pair.

The tipsy toe of one sock has been knitted during a rainy afternoon (no pic yet). I was saving the straight stocking stitch bit to do during Poldark tonight but I have managed to break one of my 2.25mm bamboo DPNs with no spare. I will be back when I have a replacement.

I’ve worked it out! When I’m knitting the “double” stitches, I need to go in from the back of both stitches of the ones done on the purl side, that neatens them up considerably to match the knit side. Right, go back to Go and start again

German short rows are new to me but I’m always happy to learn a new technique. The tipsy toe is showing up quite nicely, blocking will sort out the slight unevenness of the stitches on the knit side but when I look at the purl side …. oh! It’s absolutely dreadful and I hadn’t noticed til I took the photo that I’ve also dropped a stitch! I’ll practice the technique a bit and then frog down to the brown stripe and have another go at it.

Casting on tonight, spent some time hand winding the balls so I could matching them to get two identical socks.
