27/02/11 - Finished! It looks SO much better blocked (top two pics). Love it.
26/02/11 - I plan to block this tomorrow (had to buy more wool wash today) but thought I should put up a photo of the finished shawl (unblocked) for comparison.
The gradation didn’t work out quite as well as I’d hoped, but I still like the result. The best part was how quickly I finished the shawl. Very easy, enjoyable (except for the bit I had to rip back) knit. :oD
20/02/11 - 7pm; just finished knitting the last row. Only the crochet cast off to go. Dinner first! (9pm; cast off complete. Just have to wash and block. Photo’s soon.
19/02/11 - row 120.
18/02/11 - row 109. Getting close to the outside edge so the rows are really long now. The beading slows me down heaps too so each pattern row is taking about half an hour. Getting close to the end of my yarn ball too…eep!
17/02/11 - row 100.
16/02/11 - row 92.
15/02/11 - too tired to knit. row 87.
14/02/11 - row 84.
13/02/11 - spent most of my day blogging and tidying…so only up to row 75.
12/02/11 - row 72.
10/02/11 - Beads arrived (bottom pic). Got all the way up to row 85 then had to rip back to row 45. sigh.
09/02/11 - row 69.
05/02/11 - row 39.
04/02/11 - The pattern is in German (which I neither speak or read) and the symbols are a bit unusual to say the least. Got help with the symbol translation here and immediately started re-charting. Also ordered beads today. Will probably get started in the next few days. Re-charting is a slow painstaking job. :o/
About an hour later - Ok. So I was wrong. It didn’t take me that long at all and I’m totally happy with how my charts have turned out. I’m just finishing up another project so I can get started on this. Hope the beads arrive quick. lol.
Later still - Casting on. The adventure begins :oD
