Was looking for a sweater to knit in the same yarn as the blanket I crocheted for my granddaughter. I was going to fudge the numbers on a top down, yoked baby cardigan I’d made in the past with fingering weight yarn but found this. Bonus: pattern used the same yarn I made the blanket with, LB Wool-ease. I thought US10 needles were too big for this yarn (I’d normally use US6-8) but the fabric is turning out lovely and drapey and soft.

10/21/2012: Knitting done. Just needs ends sewn in and buttons.

Mods: I don’t like a thick seam in anything so I changed this up to knit sleeves in the round. Knit front stitches, place sleeve stitches on holders. add 2 stitches via backward e cast on, knit across back, put sleeve stitches on holder, add 2 stitches (backward e), knit across front. Knit body as directed. I didn’t decrease the 2 extra underarm stitches on each side.

Moved sleeve stitches to DPNs, picking up 1 stitch on either side of the 2 underarm stitches (adding total of 4 stitches under each arm). On row 4, I k2tog on either side of the 2 center stitches underarm to decrease down to 29 stitches for sleeve. I worked x rows before decrease row and ended in garter stitch to match the rest of sweater trim.
