5-18-22 - Finally received the hardware for the strap, and sewed it on last night. I chose 1-1/2” wide hardware, but I should have gotten 1-1/4”. But its on, its done, and in enough time before the birthday! It was a fun project, and I feel a bit accomplished, getting it all done!

5-13-22 - Finished the actual weaving last night. It went quickly, but I found myself getting a little bored with the pattern. It does look great, though! I decided to see if I could make a fancy ‘A’ in the design, the recipients first initial. While I was able to do it, it didn’t blend with the diamond shapes, so I unwove that part. I decided on a more simple letter, and made it similar to the diamond shape. It is towards the end of the band, so it won’t detract from the rest, I hope! My daughter said its like an Easter egg in the design, but it is pretty clearly there!

Now waiting for the guitar hardware, that should be here next week.

5-2-22 - Started this over the weekend, by request of my daughter’s friend as a surprise for his girlfriend’s birthday. He bought her a guitar, and asked me to make a strap. I’ve been having creative block lately, so this is a nice motivating project. The guitar is lovely warm brown tones, but she also likes red, so here we are! It is moving along fairly quickly, and I’m liking what I have so far.
