For beanie: Long-tail cast on 80 sts (teen/adult small), 72 sts (toddler)

3 rows ribbing.
13 (10) rows orange

Ear Flaps:
US8 and red yarn.
Cast on 4 sts
Purl across
K1, m1, knit to last st, m1, knit last st

Repeat last two rows until you have 18 sts (14 sts)
Work in st st until flap measures 5.5” (4.25”)
Bind off. Leave a long tail for sewing.
Repeat for second ear flap.
Sew flaps into place.

Make a pompon with all three colors and sew to top of hat.
