Custom fit

Used sizing chart in Kate Atherley’s Custom Sock book to adjust the pattern for a better fit.

My foot measures 8.5”
Guage = 7.5”/inch
Cast on = 20
Inc toe to 60 sts.

Glad I adjusted the cast on and stitch count, fits great!

I have only knit socks with a flap and gusset heel. So I’ve added a lifeline with barber cords in case I need to rip back for fit or switch back to what I am more comfortable knitting.

I mistakenly thought this was a Fleegle heel but it’s actually a YO short row heel. Didn’t like how my first attempt looked and the foot was a tiny bit too long. Pattern called to knit foot to 8” and probably should have been 7.75”. Ripped back one round on both socks.

I wish I had modified the pattern and knit more rows in the toe.
