I want to say something about the yarn I’ve used, as I find that Garnstudio DROPS Karisma - be it uni colour or mix - is not very consistent when it comes to metreage and weight.

In a project like this, where each piece is of exactly the same size and stitch count, it’s extremely annoying that this inconsistency makes it more or less impossible to make an accurate calculation of the number of balls needed.

Some colours were very thin, nearer DK than worsted, and some were very weighty, closer to worsted/9 wpi. This is why I decided on needles 3.5 mm instead of 4 mm recommended by Garnstudio, as I didn’t want the colours of very thin Karisma to become too “fluffy” in comparison with the colours made from coarser yarn.
