Inside Out for Clean Stripes in Stockinette
The Weekender is designed with the Reserve Stockinette (purl) side showing on the finished sweater. When the purl-side shows with stripes in stockinette, an offset row
of color is created between the stripes at each color change. This is not very noticeable from a distance, but is a different look up close.
Also, the slip stich detail in the pattern that appears down the center of body on both the front and the back is designed to span two rows. As a result, the slip stitch will occasionally occur across a color change, creating a color jog.
For solid bands of colors, this adaptation is knit with the Stockinette (knit) side out, leaves the slip stitch detail in the middle of the body out entirely, and for the shoulder shaping section uses short row wraps concealed on the knit side.
