This will pair nicely with my Float Shawl.
I am calling it „Dandelion Wishes“ , because as a child growing up in Germany , when blowing the seeds you were supposed to make a wish. Once seeded the Löwenzahn became a Pusteblume. ..
I cast on using the German Twisted Cast on and jumped right into the ribbing instead of doing one row of knit first.
To mark the stitch for the fan stitch, I clipped a removable marker into the right leg of the stitch ( or into the strand between the sts of the previous round) instead of using yarn to mark the spot from where to build the fan stitch.
I like how the increases are worked by using the pretty fan stitch.
Sizing/ Fit: started off on size M, but did not add all of the increases after completing A4. Only did one increase left and right to where I will divide body and sleeves (308+8= 316) to get a size between medium and large.
When dividing I keep 90 sts each for front and back and 68 sts each for the sleeves and cast on 10 rather than 8 sts for the underarm.
200 body sts and 78 sleeve sts. A loose fit, but not too big. Also eliminate the extra sts when joining in the round. K2tog ( last body st with first underarm st) SSK ( last underarm st with first body st.
Did less increases on the sides.
5.27. Used the sewn tubular bind off in the round; nice match to the cast on.
Sleeves I don’t much like the way the sleeves fare out and if I had thought it through more , I would have decreased sts after A4 the same way as it was done after A3, but only across the sleeve section.
As it is, I decrease sts immediately in the row when I put my sleeve sts back on the needle and pick up underarm sts. I also made the sleeves shorter. Now they look like short puffy sleeves , haha , but it’s ok.
5. 29. With all of the knitting done as of today I just have to weave in ends and block.
5.31. This blocked out beautifully. All the kinks and uneven areas are gone. I couldn’t be more pleased.
There is also this: After finishing the “Float” shawl, I whipped up the top because I had the yarn and it matched the pink in the shawl. But look what happened: The fan stitch which makes the increases in the round yoke, looks so much like the cluster stitch in the shawl. A match made in heaven very pleased with it.
