The yarn is a tad lighter than DK , but should work well for this.
There are also some excellent instructions on resizing for different yarn or to suit your preference of snugness.

Nov 7: started on section 2 in the round.

Easy to remember pattern and quick knit.
I am thinking to make it a little taller.

I kept going back and forth wether or not I should buy that second skein of yarn and make the cowl a little taller. But in the end I bound off in the third of the final four row section. It seems perfect timing as we had the first snow the very next day.
It is a great fit and look.

12.2. Back on the needles. My neck is rather long ( something my brother used to tease me about) and I am adding a few inches to cover the back of my neck more. I still remember the stitch , so it’s no big deal
