Another friend, Sylvia, gifted me this yarn to knit something for baby.
Hubby suggested a vest, so here I go.
I will knit this in the round, loosely based on this pattern.

CO 70 sts ( 2x40-10).
4 rounds of seed stitch.
Then continue to knit with seed stitch over six stitches on the sides to 5“ from CO.
Using the spiral knit method to blend yarns of two skeins as this yarn is hand dyed.

I finished the back yesterday and was contemplating if I should keep going and then Kitchener stitch across the front, but decided to continue the front upward and either use the Kitchener stitch or 3-needle bind off on the shoulders. This means that I will do ssk and k2 tog instead of YO‘s for the V-neck.
This is a very quick knit and cute to boot
I will probably finish it tomorrow.

The knitting is more or less finished.
My latest idea on making it easier to put on and take off, is to knit extra rows on the shoulders to get an overlap, to strengthen the edges with ribbon and add large clear pressbuttons. This means that I need a trip to JoAnns before finishing this.
Another idea is to continue an inch or so for the back shoulder, make button holes in the front and close it this way; a little bit like with this romper https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Strickliese/mustard-baby....
in this case I could use some Beatrix Potter buttons I already have.
Finished!
Now I just need to get some Beatrix Potter books to go with this.
