Bought this yarn at the Knit Wit yarn shop in Portland, Maine with the pattern. It reminds me of the coast of Maine with its sands and also rocks.

It was nice, too, to meet the designer at the shop.

The pattern is easy to remember which makes this a good travel project.

To give it some color and to resemble the ocean, I started with a couple of yards of blue yarn from a skein of Spincycle which translated into about two inches.

I like how it came out; a nice memory of a weekend spent with two friends in Portland, Manine.

I love how the different shades of the yarn overlap and interact when you wrap this shawl multiple times
