Since I am between the smallest size and the next size up I CO 214 sts just like JaneEyre9 did (her project notes were very helpful!).
Then I decreased a total of ten times to 174 sts and increased back to 194 sts following the instructions for the smallest size from there.
I divided for the armholes at 14” length (rather than 14 1/2”).
I noticed that there is still an error in the chart (I bought the pattern in July 2014) and a ssk is missing at the beginning of row 7 just before the YO and at the end a k2tog just after the last YO. Either that or you will always have two additional stitches per row, one at the beginning and one at the end. I opted for the additional stitches in my knitting.
One other change I made in the lace section is that instead of the sk2p I knitted a cdd; I simply like that look better.
October 2014: After my road trip and after the Sheep and Wool Festival I picked this project up again. I only had to knit about 12 more rows to finish the back, then the three-needle bind off. This part was a breeze.
Now I am trying to decide if I should use US#3 or #5 for the i-cord edging. The neckline seems a bit floppy to me and I thought it may tighten it better on US# 3, but that seems a bit too stiff (see picture# 4 from the bottom)…
Finally finished I did the i-cord edging on US#3. I finished one armhole in November 2014 and then the project went into hibernation because I went into gift knitting mode, then smaller item mode. Finally with the weather getting warmer, I picked up the project again the day after Mother’s Day (5.13.) and finished it in just a few hours!
I am loving the outcome!
