To knit up a matching pair to the slippers for the mom-to-be, I sized down the smallest size even more.
My pithy direction:
CO 15 sts
K 8 rows
Toe flap 5/5/5
16 rows over center 5
Pick up 8 sts either side
K4 rows, then work sole.

This being so small, I finished the pair in just over one hour.

This is the approximate size of a newborn’s foot:
