Copper is our son and his wife’s four month old Vizsla and he is shivering in the cold.
Since I had made a sweater for his “sister” Pretzel https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Strickliese/classic-aran
It seems only right to make one for him in adult size so he can grow into it.
The breeder was nice to give me grand dad’s measurements: 27” around chest, 25” collar to tail.
I got gauge of 5 sts / inch on US#5.
Unfortunately a lot of the math for the larger sizes is incorrect in the pattern, otherwise I would have given this a higher rating. If you want to use the pattern solely with your own measurements, you will be Ok.
I did write to the designer twice:
“I am knitting up the pullover style dog sweate from the Cast On magazine February-April 2014.
I believe some of the total stitch count after the increases for the back after dividing for the forelegs are incorrect.
Size L should be 65+24=89
Size XL 85+26=111
Size XXL 105+16=121
If however the stitch count is supposed to be correct, then the number of increases should be altered.
However looking at the stitch count after joining in the round again, it is the stitch count which is incorrect.
Just wanted to let you know as feedback.
I am enjoying the pattern.
Thank you.”
“Sorry to write to you again, but I came across another section on the double trouble dog sweater where the math doesn’t work out. It says continue working until piece measures 14.25 inches. However for XL size at 10” ( at gusset shaping)+ 4.5”( armhole)= 14.5 inches total.
Since I go by the dog’s measurements and am using the pattern for general guidance only, it doesn’t effect me too much, but wanted to make sure you know and may want to edit/ revise the pattern.”
12.25. Had a fitting over my birthday ( 21st) and finished knitting today. I hope the armholes are big enough…
All that’s left now is to duplicate stitch the name to the front/ chest.
I thought this YouTube video was helpful.

I used Steph Conley’s letter chart for the duplicate stitching.
