Yes, my 42nd pair of socks.
Started today (May1). Using yarn harvested from another pair of socks which don’t fit Tony well and which I shortened by 14 rows to fit me.

Cast on 16 sts (2x8) for each sock and increased to 68 sts (2x34).
After the toe shaping. I continued for the foot , purling the sole side to have the smooth stockinette side against the skin.
Started the gussets at 3 3/4 inches short of total length and worked them for 34 rows, then turned the heel. I like to try new ways of doing things and thinking outside the box. This heel construction checks both.
Personally I find the chart much easier to follow.
May 9: one heel turned.

Did 1x1 ribbing with the smaller needle on the cuff for the last 2 inches and finished with a Jenny’s stretchy bind off.
Good fit; may use this heel construction again.
