Over Christmas I had everyone pick out yarn from my stash and decide on either a pair of socks or a cowl.
My DIL , Julie picked out the Uneek yarn is is very excited to ecive a pair of handknitted socks.
I stated on the toe box and will make this a project to take on my road-trip in February. A nice and easy project to work on while hubby drives.
Shoe size 8.
I did something clever to take this on the road easily and keeping the yarn clean. I punched holes in the box the yarn came in and am feeding the yarn through, knitting the socks two at a time. Since I am pulling the yarn from the inside of the ball, the color sequence will be opposite to the picture on the box. The yarn does seem very curly in the beginning, but should be relaxing soon as the yarn balls will get smaller.
3.1. Put these on hold for now to see if Julie is happy with the cuff length and if the foot needs tweaking.
3.21. the foot had to be shortened by 15 rounds. I cut the yarn at 15+22 rounds , put the stitches back on needles and re- knit the toe in the opposite direction ( it’s not really noticeable that I am off by 1/2 stitch doing this.
