Green yarn arrived today and I finished the Santa Clause section.
I am also working on a graduation cap for Liam for when he graduates from NICU

Did eight rounds in White and will start on ”’24” next.
11-08-2024
Forgot the decreases and re-did the last 8 rounds.
Doing a double center decrease every other round in the center of the back eight times (52 stitches left).
I also worked the twelve rounds for the year “ ‘24” using the intarsia method.
In the round following the number ( round 19) I also put half the stitches (26) on hold and did a provisional cast on of emphasized text26 stitches to work an afterthought heel later.
That’s it for today. Got a lot done and I did it all on the day when baby’s surgery was tested to be a success.
Got the year done on the day Liam’s tests came out positive for a successful surgery.

I want to give this to Liam’s Mom and Dad around Thanksgiving for their Christmas decorations. That should be no problem since all which is left to do, are the toe and heel.
Finished the toe today.
Needle 1 over 26 sts: K1, ssk, k to the last 3 sts, k2tog, k1
Repeat on Needle 2
Next round: knit all sts.
Repeat last two rounds until 6 sts are left on each needle.
Then Kitchener stitch the toe.

I finished the afterthought heel the same way I worked the toe. I also worked double stitches over the year. I think it looks better that way and will do the same with the name.
Other than that, I will only need to add a loop for hanging.
Interesting fact: Liam’s Mom and Dad were engaged today six years ago.

Here is a tip on duplicate stitching. Count the number of sts you want to do. Wrap the yarn around the needle you used that many times, then close to double the length.
I like the look of the duplicate stitching for the name and year.
For the loop to hang the stocking, I braided two strands of each color into the center edge in the back, folded it and attached to the inside of the stocking.
It’s all done.
