Decided to knit up a quick pair of baby pants to go with the vest.

CO for smallest size, join in the round for first inch, then purl one row ( folding row) and work another inch flat, knit together with CO sts in last row and continue in the round for the body.
Had I given it more thought, I would have centered the opening for the waist band between two knit sts.
Unravelled 5 rnds and redid the increases in M1 instead of kbf, because it looked too messy.
Planning to add a few short rows over the back 48 sts for the diaper bump and a crotch gusset in the eight knit rounds after the seed stitch section.
4/40/4 shortrow in rnd 13
11/26/11 shortrow in rnd after seed stitch section
18/12/18 shortrow in 1st of the 8 knit rnds.
gusset: k23, M1,k2,M1, k23 over both front and back sts of pants.
k one rnd,
M1 left and right of previous M1
Repeat the last two rnds.
When separating for the legs 3-needle- bind off or Kitchener stitch the middle 6 sts.

Separated for the legs and aiming for a 9” leg length .
That’s 63 rnds since I am knitting to gauge. I want to do leg decreases evenly before 1inch of ribbing.
Working a decrease rnd every four rnds twelve times.

Knitting a longer seed stitch secion in the legs ( eight repeats).

I knitted a longer ankle cuff with a turning round and tucked it down. It can easily be undone for longer legs if needed.
Pants are done and I started on an I-cord waist band, then it justneeds to be washed/ blocked and voila, finished.
I am knitting the I-cord on the smaller #7 needles.

I-cord is done and it’s blocking now.
