Another project for #Christmas in July.
Just setting them up for now as a possible project during our trip to Spain in May.
Since this yarn is so thin, I am working on smaller needles. CO 2x10 sts for each sock, then increased to 2x 38 sts (76 total).
I wondered if the smaller sts will make these socks more durable, too, and asked a Facebook knitting group for their experience and opinion. One member drew my attention to this very insightful article:

I am using the HG heel construction which is my favorite at the moment
Started the HG heel at three inches from length of foot. Increased to 22 sts between the markers plus one row knit which equals 40 rows total from beginning of the heel, which totals three inches in length.
I got to this point just before my road-trip ( January 25) and am happy to leave this project behind in hibernation .
When I pick it up again I will be turning the heel.

March 7-9: Did a fitting, took out four rounds, turned the heels and these are back in hibernation until my next trip in May. I will only need to work on the cuffs then.

April 4: Decide not to take these on my trip and finished them within a week.
