Notes

I was gifted this beautiful sock yarn and right away thought “ oh, yes, I will make a pair of socks for myself for the Christmas in July theme.
Working two bands of 1x1 ribbing over five sts left and right to the top of the foot , because 56 sts seemed a bit loose and rather than unraveling I tightened it with a bit of ribbing. I am working the sole in reverse st st.
I will be using the Float pattern in the cuff only, making some floaty gray blossoms rose

To start I am using the Emma held double with Regia Beilauffaden for the toes and heels. The Emma yarn was left from a vest . Using one cake and pulling yarn for one sock from the inside and the other from the outside with the additional Regia yarn feels like performing some kind of magic trick or playing cat’s cradle.

Increase toe to 56 sts.

I am substituting German Short rows for the W& T.
As a quick refresher I watched this video:

Both heels are turned. I switched from reverse st st to st st on the first row of reverse shaping.

About the cluster stitches. I wanted them smaller and less frequent than in the Float shawl. I worked them over three sts ( which doesn’t use up all of the gray; but that’s ok). And I also do not work them each time there is a color change.

Took the project out of the suitcase and doing my best to get them finished by Tuesday when we fly back home. As my next project is a very special one and I am looking forward to get that on my needles.

12 rounds of ribbing and bound off with Jenny’s stretchy bind off.
Tomorrow I will weave in all the ends and be done grinning
