The yarn was a gift from Leah Stickle last Christmas.
Time to use it up. Bonus points on the yarn: it’s from Germany ( as am I) and the name “ Beach Foam” makes me think of the ocean and warmer days on the beach.

I know the yarnchoice is contrary to their recommendation of using non superwash, but I think it will be nice.

The hat does not seem to cover the ears on the model of the pattern, so I decided to make it a bit longer by adding two rows in the ribbing.

First repeat of the cable chart finished.
My single LPT’s and RPT’s are a bit sloppy ; I have to try and tighten them in the following repeats.

11.5. Noticed a missed cable way down in one of the 9 stitch cables. Dropped down all 9 sts to 24 rows down and reknit; looks like there was never any mistake.

11.7. I have finished five chart repeats and have to decide now Wether or not to add another repeat like supizoo did in her tree climber hat ( click on the link) .

In the end I decided on finishing it at this point, after all I had added two rows already in the ribbing.

11.8. Finished and it’s plenty big enough to cover my ears. For now I decided against the pompon, but I have enough yarn left if I change my mind.
