My DIL who works at a LYS fell in love with the store sample and since she is not a knitter, I volunteered.

Finished two body pattern repeats.
A little hard to get into after knitting several quick and cute baby items.

Still working on the body. Got to 285 sts and trudging along. A little more than one pattern repeat and then I can start on the lace border. This is a lot more work than my shawl on #6 needles which I absolutely lve.

I really want to start on another project, but I am forcing myself to finish this first. Started on the edging today and manage to squeeze all 635 sts on my 32” needle.

On a quiet Sunday morning I managed to tune in to knitting row 5 of the edging pattern. It was almost like a chant as I told myself the sequence of the sts over and over again.
Although a long and not easy row, I felt calmed.

I have to admit that at this point I have to make myself work on this. Also, I cannot work on it for too long , because I tend to loose concentration.
But even so, I have bound off about 1/4 of the sts.

Bound off half

The weather is giving me a bit of a push to get this finished. The next sunny and warm day is next Friday ( yes, we are having a lovely Indian Summer) at 74 F ! I will make myself bind off two to three lace repeats each day and will be able to block the shawl then on the table outside.

Blocking to dimensions indicated in pattern as that’s what she wanted. I could have easily blocked it larger, but is is supposed to come out just like the store sample
