Getting ready for Winter.
I saw an advert for a similar hat , thought that’s just a simple balaclava and found this pattern.
I like historical patterns and if this was warm enough for soldiers during WWI , it should suit me just fine.
Knitting up style C.
Switching to 16“ circular needle after about 3“ from the start.
The yarn was a gift and with just one skein I could have finished when I ran out, but added a few inches in another yarn for a little more length when pulled down.
I am happy with the yarn I used for that. I found some mystery sport weight yarn in my stash which was a gift and picks up some of the color of the solid Malabrigo. Doubled with a strand of Laceweight Aloft, it gives me the right thickness and a nice touch to introduce the other color and texture both around my neck when pulled down or as a brim when folded up.
