When I saw this pattern, I immediately thought of my Rowan Original Denim yarn! My gauge however would be much different and my knitted sweater would shrink 15-20% according to the label. I have knit with another deim yarn before (Den-M-Nit) but it shrinks 10-15%.

My gauge using 4.00mm needles was 20sts to 4” so I cast on for a size 44 to give me size 40, casting on 198 stitches. Mostly, I followed the pattern but I made a few mods: For the bottom hem and sleeve hems, I did seed stitch for 5 rows. For the body length, I knit to 15” which gave me 13.5” after washing and blocking.

I wanted 3/4 sleeves, so I cast on 47 stitches with 3.75mm needles, knit 5 rows of seed stitch, switched to 4.00mm needles and continued in st st and making my increases every 8th row 8 times until I had 63 sts. I knit 5 more rows to 13.25”. My washed and blocked sleeve length is 11.5” just as I wanted.

For the yoke, I did not add any extra rows because the yoke looked like it had enough depth to allow enough shrinkage to still fit, and in fact, in th rounds following the Tide Lace pattern, I knit 3 rounds then the decrease round twice instead of 4 rounds before the decrease round.
